Friday Five Words Let’s Go

No those aren’t my five words, I am just messing around trying think of Five.

A DAY OF JOY AGAIN

First off, coffee with friends including one who had been away for a while. So joy at seeing her and how well she looked.

Second, had done a bit of shopping and found some unmentionables I had not found lately. So joy at that!

Third, FaceTime with a dear old friend (our usual Friday afternoon). So joy, she lifted me up!

Four, I found my new fave herbal tea, It is so yummy!

So joy at treating my taste buds with pomegranate and raspberry.

Fifth, I had told B I have been looking for a nice teapot for ages and had no luck. She suggested I use my French Press, because I like to make a pot at a time. Works like a charm and wrapping a towel around it keeps it warm. So great joy at that!

Sixth, I walked down the street to my building and two elderly gents were sitting out front and called me over. I was tired and a bit grumpy so I was just going to keep going, but walked over to them. One chap said, ‘I had to tell you when you came around the corner the sun shone down on you and you glowed.’ I smiled and replied, ‘That’s because I am an angel!’ And I walked on with a smile on my face as they chuckled!

Three Books Aren’t Too Many

It’s Five Word Friday, the first Friday of each month where we describe in Five Words exactly, our life or thoughts in the moment. This is the brain child of my partner here at AWA and LA our New York blogging friend.

So you get to read JB’s Five Word Friday the day before you get to read ours, her side of the world occurring one day before ours. BTW LA’s today is Barcelona is an awesome place! Sorta gives you an idea about where she is currently. And JB’s is Time out from Care Home.

It wasn’t difficult to come up with my five words.

Three Books Aren’t Too Many

Below are the three from my library, on my iPad.

I’ve been in a Jeffery Deaver kind of mood, having just finished his latest The Midnight Lock.

James Patterson by James Patterson caught my eye – I always like info from the horse’s mouth as it were, when it comes to my authors. The personal touch.

The Silva Method by Hans deJong caught my eye sometime ago and I had been on the ‘wait list’ for sometime and it finally came in yesterday. The wait list surprised me as it was publish yesterday in 1986, but having said that the wait list for How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie is still a hot item and takes months to get.

So from here at North of 43 I must be off and get reading. A true pleasure I might add. And. What are your five for today?

MY BLOUSE IS UPSIDE DOWN

It’s Five Word Friday on this side of the globe. JB did a brilliant post yesterday capturing five things she had learned that week. My comment to her had been that I had learned the joy of writing a page a day of my story. I mean, by then, I had consistently done 2 days in a row. And today will be my 3rd day.

I do have a problem with long term commitment so every day I succeed is something new. However the process is not at all painful as feared. I discovered it was a irrational fear blocking my progress. When I realized my fear was – what if it is crap?- my response became – who cares-.

Oh – yes back to Five Word Friday. The fact is I wrote this: IF I COULD GO BACK – the other day and my mind was full of ideas: Learn a musical instrument, and a second language, finish my degree, – lots of things.

Then the Five Words you see in the title happened today that caused all else to pale.

MY BLOUSE IS UPSIDE DOWN

And I wore it out, in public, for three hours, to meet friends for coffee and to take a stroll downtown and must admit I was feeling pretty good.

Then a sweet young lady, younger than thirty, walking along the street with her two young children approached me. I knew English was her second language when she gently said, pointing at my blouse, ’You are upside down. your blouse is upside down.

Sure enough I looked at it upside down and it was inside out.

Such things are amusing to my mind. And of course I could not change it until I finished this blog.

But now on this sunny pleasant afternoon I am off to change. And complete my one page for today. And then congratulate myself with a glass of wine and ignore the dust and laundry until tomorrow.

So from soon to be right side up North of 43 I bid you all a lovely first Friday of the month!
