My habit of late has been to walk first thing in the mornings. Okay, first I wake up, make coffee to have in bed while I review blogs, make comments, check email (in this I am channeling JB – who of course has tea instead.) Then I dress, brush teeth and walk. This only works on the days I don’t go meet friends at Cafe O. on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays.

This is us and the photo is from the instagram page of Cafe O Roaster & Bakery. Sometimes the group is larger, sometimes a bit smaller.
I love walking though must talk myself into it on occasion. I love looking and this one, at eye level made me smile.

On the same walk I stopped to enjoy (visually) this back yard park.

I was tempted to sit on benches around this area but people are really funny about trespassers.
I love to look at houses and wonder what it would be like to live there? Though I have to say I get worried looks from people on the street when I snap a photo.

And even though I live in a third floor apartment I am lucky enough to have a large tree beside my balcony and I can look down of lovely lawns and gardens. This is the view yesterday from my balcony,

And of course the view to the right through my tree:

All very pleasant. All very nice. Soothing even.
I am a long time member Weight Watchers, now known as WW. I join up every few months when they have a sale on for 3 months to get back on track. One of their perks, (I am a virtual member) is a thing called Walk and Talk.

So I put in my ear buds (or whatever they are called today), choose a speaker and begin walking.
The reason I mention this is that something Matthew McConaughey said resonates with me. He was talking about the importance of gratitude. And he said, you don’t have to believe in God or a god to be grateful and to express gratitude.
So what do all my ramblings from North of 43 today point to? Gratitude. I am grateful. For my life and for those in it. Oh, and that includes all of you who choose to read my words.

Thank you.

I’m a WW lifetime member who blew my status with all my birthday celebrations in January. So now I pay every month until I get back to writhin 2 pounds of my goal. Hard! Maybe I should try the WW walk app, but with my bum hip I’m not walking unless I have too. Excuses!

Walking every day for 30 minutes also helps prevent Alzheimer’s 🙂 If I don’t walk a day, I feel very off. You have beautiful scenery around you – it’s so nice that you get to enjoy it and are grateful for it and your friends.

Been a low key day so rejuvenating. I think I have to return yet again to our 31 day chart. I like to think of Saturdays as my chore day but it ends up being painfully not a good idea lol

I walk almost every day except when the heat and humidity are in the 90s. Summer walks must be very early to beat the heat, and I am not much for rising with the sun. But I do feel better when I get myself moving for an early walk. Like you, I have a lovely neighborhood to wander.

If I am reading this correctly, you walk twice a week.
Twice more than me.
I HAVE to start walking again soon.
You have lovely scenery.

I walk almost every day…having dogs helps. Lately, I walk enshrouded in mosquito netting, so that I am not carried away by the little vampires!
